Obokuri Eemui / Obokuri Eeumi
Posted by The big poobah in Anime, Featured Articles, Obokuri Eemui on April 16, 2006 | 36 Comments
Hmm…it recently occured to me, that a lot of people have stumbled upon my blog while searching for the song Obokuri Eemui / Obokuri Eeumi. Anyone who has seen the anime TV series, Samurai Champloo, would be familiar with this haunting and beautiful piece which was played in the 14th episode.
Obokuri Eemui / Obokuri Eeumi roughly translated to Obtain Bearing, is an Okinawan song by Ikue Asazaki. Her haunting voice, coupled with an awesome piano piece, easily make this one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. In fact, I had mentioned this in my very first blog entry…that...

It’s raining. And dammit I don’t have a camera.
I love rain. It’s my favourite kind of weather. Especially the rain in Singapore. I simply love it. I dunno why people have to crib so much about the rainy weather, but I live for rainy days. It makes me feel good inside. And it depresses me at the same time. I don’t think any sort of weather can evoke such emotions within you. I mean…when it’s really hot…you’re just too pissed off to feel great…when it’s cold, your brain just freezes…and when it’s normal…well, that’s...
Birthday Blues

Well, April 9th was my birthday. I didn’t really feel like blogging about it, but what the hell…I have to kill this exam tension somehow.
Things started out on a great note. Agas invited me to dinner to meet his dad who had just come to Singapore. We went to a restaurant called Crystal Jade Palace. Pretty cool place…and the food was nice too. I tried Sharks fin for the first time in my life! It tasted like…umm…well…seafood . Not that I had very high expectations or anything…lol. Supportive friends that we are…hehe…most of our time was spent...

Wolf Brain
Posted by The big poobah in Anime, Yoko Kanno on April 5, 2006 | No Comments
Well…just a week to go before my exams start…and I stayed up all night, watching Wolf’s Rain.
All 30 episodes of it.
I have lost my mind.
I’m off to find paradise now.
And sleep.
