Mumbai Bomb Blasts

Just hours after news reached on our television screens of the Srinagar blasts, another series of blasts shook all of us.

7 highly planned bomb blasts have taken place in the local trains of Mumbai, and as of now, 100 people have been reported dead, with the numbers expected to rise.

Sadness and immense rage are the only two emotions one can have at a time like this, as the images are being broadcasted over here in Indore. I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of tension and mayhem which the people must be experiencing in Mumbai right now. Phone lines were down and my neighbour was unable to reach her family in Mumbai for a long period of time. As I type this, I can actually see people sending SMSs to news channels, that are also being shown in a small screen below, asking their loved ones to contact them immediately and whether they’re ok or not.

Why do such terrible things have to occur? What kind of a sick mind is responsible for an inhuman act such as this?? When will people understand that TERRORISM CANNOT GAIN ANYTHING?!

Whoever is responsible for this, should not be imprisoned, or killed or, tried in court…they should be subjected to humiliation and severe torture. Their torture should be so extreme,so gruesome and so prolonged, that death become their only remaining hope. If they were about to die of pain, they would be put on life support…revived…and then tortured some more. Such is the punishment they deserve.

But despite all the anger, hatred and sadism…it is reassuring to know that courage and kindness still exist in the heart of some. For many hours after the blast occurred…NO police help…or help from the government came. In the face of such a calamity, it wasn’t the inefficient “system” that responded…but rather the common man of India. Now I don’t care how cliched that may sound, but that’s exactly what happened. People who heard the blast came rushing to the scene to carry the injured to nearby hospitals themselves.

One of the most heart breaking scenes I saw, was that of a man being interviewed at the scene. He narrated, how he and several others carried away the bodies of the injured and the dead, the dismembered arms, legs, necks and what not,off the tracks all the way to the hospitals. He saw with his own eyes how the railway police ran away in terror, refusing to help, when they were asked. And as he narrated all this…he broke down in tears…trembling in fatigue, as the people crowded behind him…complete strangers…patted his head and rubbed his shoulders to comfort him. I’ll never forget that scene, or his voice…as it broke down mid-way…squeaking the sentences somehow,as he fought to hold back his tears.

This is the common man of Mumbai.

This is the resident of “the rudest city in the world”.

Well…FUCK YOU Reader’s Digest, and an even bigger FUCK YOU to whoever thought up that convoluted survey. I hope you shove EVERY copy of that issue, up your stupid ass in shame.I doubt that the people of ANY OTHER country would react in such a selfless way to come and help their fellow man, even though its not in any way a part of their profession.

This has been a bad day. And I am thoroughly pissed. My well wishes to the people of Mumbai, and love to those who may have lost someone dear in this terrible tragedy.

And may those terrorists suffer in agony for the grief they have caused.

Exactly! Rudest city in the world, my foot!!! Sure, Mumbaikkars don’t have polite masquerades and plastic smiles, but they’re there when they’re needed the most. And isn’t that all that matters?
Prayers to all the families who suffered terrible losses. And prayers to keep our country safe!

P.S.: 8 kg off in 2 months? how on earth did u do that???
