About Me

Welcome to my website! My name is Ranajay (big surprise). I live in Singapore and I’ve been here for the past 5 years. I’m from India originally (Indore to be more specific) and I’m working as an engineer over here…for the time being (What? An engineer? From India? How could you have guessed…).

This site is basically a ranting ground for me (aka blog) and a place to showcase some of my art. Mostly to rant though. I’ve been blogging since 2005, which was my second year in college. A lot has changed since then, including my style of writing, which has essentially turned to shit over the years. But I’m trying to improve on that.

Anyway, about me…I graduated from NTU in 2008 (big shout out to all you crazy NTU people out there!). I absolutely LOVE watching movies and I can go on for hours discussing how Road to Perdition was the most perfect movie ever made or how I can watch 5 Centimeters Per Second 4 times in a row and still not get bored of it (among other random movie related crap).

I also love Yoko Kanno with all my heart. She’s a very talented music composer from Japan and her music literally changed my life! I don’t think there’s any other composer whose music consistently sends a rush of blood to my face and makes me giddy with joy. It was her music that carried me through all the awesome and terrible times in Singapore. So if you’re a Yoko Kanno lover, you’ve come to the right place. If not, then search for her music on Youtube and brace yourself for a life altering, perspective bending experience.

Among other things, I love(d) to write. In fact, I dare say I used to be good at it too. I’m also an amateur designer and photographer. Basically I like to try out different things in an attempt to express myself artitically. So, if you’re into digital design or photography, do spare some time to check out my gallery. You’ll find a lot of stuff there…vector art, digital paintings, photos, photo-manips, prose and even some shitty poetry .
