I’ve been particularly fidgety and restless in the past few days. So I decided to turn my misguided energy on my poor computer.
Now, in case you didn’t know, I bought myself a monster of a PC last year for my birthday. I’ll post the specs later in this post, but suffice to say, when it was bought, it was one of the most badass rigs out there baby! It still kinda is .
Anyway, I bought a bunch of stuff recently for my PC to spruce it up a bit. Bought an additional 1TB HDD (it’s a Caviar Black bitches…one of the best 7200 rpmers out there) to store all my sitcoms and...

Swinging elbows welt the night,
Babas make the world seem right.
Wonder filled memories fleet,
amidst emo rants and tweets.
Sunshine pierces through in cones
on houses made of bricks and stones.
Imaginary friends return again
as another week begins.

Mass Effect 2
Posted by The big poobah in Featured Articles, Games on February 1, 2010 | 2 Comments
This post is dedicated to the game that has pretty much taken over a large chunk of my life lately. It also happens to be one those games that you’d feel guilty for not buying (I know I did).
So now that I’ve absolved myself of the guilt, let me just say that the Mass Effect series have to be two of the most engrossing, amazing and fucktastically brilliant games I’ve ever played. Rarely,if ever,do sequels live up to…nay…astronomically exceed the expectations laid down by their predecessors. Mass Effect 2 builds on the incredible story laid down by Mass Effect and...
A More Half-Hearted and Superficial Status Quo

‘More’ because the previous Status Quo is posted under Private.
January summary-
I went to Rawa islands for NYE with LEAP mates. Was fun. We were alone on the island. Got to snorkel for the first time in my life and it was exhilarating. I felt like a kid who had just learnt how to ride the bike and felt like showing off. Only problem was, I can’t swim even if my life depended on it. So I looked like a fish out of water. Wait…does that metaphor apply if I’m literally in the water? Played pool, drinking games, fed the fish, ate the fish, destroyed a few corals (just kidding!Never...
Looking back at 2009 : Part IV (New Resolutions)
Posted by The big poobah in Featured Articles, Personal shit on January 3, 2010 | No Comments
2009 was all about doing the things I’ve always wanted to do/going to places I’ve always wanted to go to/buying the things I’ve always wanted but didn’t have enough money to .
I think 2010 should be more about self-improvement. So I’ll start off with a few simple pseudo-resolutions and add on more during the course of the year.
Lose weight and get into shape (i.e. No belly, minimal flabs).Ideal weight would be 64-68 kilos.
Learn how to cook (simple dishes, preferably meat).
Learn how to be ambidextrous (not sure how it’ll help. Just a small experiment for...
Looking back at 2009 : Part II

2009 was definitely a Year of Sowing Wild Oats.
And oats were certainly sown by the truckloads. A lot of things happened this year. Both good and bad. But the good things far outweigh the bad. In fact, when I think of 2009, I can only think of the good things. Let’s do a comparision then:
The Good
The Bad
The Weird
Moved the fuck on!
My first smoke, followed by many many more
Confusion
Got drunk enough to forget what happened the night before (the night before being 31st Jan 2008)
Put on more weight
Multiple ‘friends with benefits’ and meaningless relationships...
Looking back at 2009 : Part I

Let me take a look back at how 2008 ended. My last 3 entries of 2008 in chronological order:
Fuck you very much Universe
“…Fuck you very much for the fresh dose of irony, Universe. I know you hate me. I hate you too.
…Makes perfect cosmic sense that this bitch of a year should end like this.”
Emotional Attyachaar
“…Tauba tera jalwa…tauba tera pyaar
Tera emotional attyachaar”
Goodbye 2008 and Good Riddance
“Well, this fucked up year is finally coming to an end! And about time too.”
2008 was a supremely fucked up year. And in a way I’m glad...
Lessons Learnt in Brunei

Lesson #1 : If the hotel breakfast is supposed to start at 7 a.m., go at 7:20 instead. Unless you have a thing for waiting in front of CLOSED signs.
Lesson #2 : Smoking in the bathtub while listening to your Sleep Playlist is ALWAYS a good idea.
Lesson #3 : Rabbit satay will taste like sweet chicken. And always use your common sense and REFRAIN from ordering Butter Chicken in a Chinese restaurant no matter how hungry you are.
Lesson #4 : It’s NEVER a bad idea to load movies onto your laptop before leaving!
And now…we return to Episode #27 of Great Teacher Onizuka. Hwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
On...

S.O.S
A little boy on an umbrella is floating away in a vast ocean. The sun is setting. His only companion is a small groggy froggy who looks on ahead. He leaves behind messages in bottles…tiny notes that struggle to stay above the waves.
A little boy waiting to be saved.

Longer cigarettes

Today, I changed the rating for “The Predatory Wasp of the Palaside Walls” by Sufjan Stevens from 3 stars to 5 on my iPod.
The song started at the exact moment when I stepped through the parking lot between my block and the one next to mine and looked up at the night sky. It wasn’t the ugly red that I see in Singapore usually, but was instead a beautiful and soothing black, with a few stars sprinkled here and there.
And at that time I wished for a moment that my cigarette never end, so that I could just stand in the cool breeze and stare at that sky forever and not have to go...
